Hello World

Hello World! In this first post, I would like to shortly introduce myself, things and areas that are of interest to me, as well as the kind of content you can expect to find here.

Admittedly, my writing skills are not the best one may find out there (hopefully, this blog will help me improve on that). As such, the rest of this post will be written in a Q&A format.

Who are you?

Hi! My name is Angelos Kolaitis. I have graduated from the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA, and I am currently on the second year of my PhD on Distributed Systems and Biomedical Applications.

I have experience as a Software Engineer in multiple roles, being part of small and large teams alike. Some of the things I am the most proud to have been a part of:

Presently, I am working on MicroK8s, Canonical’s zero-ops high-availability minimal Kubernetes distribution.

What are you interested in?

In no particular order:

What can I expect to find in your blog then?

  • Tutorials and how-to’s for things that I am trying on personal projects.
  • Documentation and troubleshooting for issues that arise from time to time.
  • (Short and rather infrequent) opinion pieces regarding technology.

What can I not expect?

Anything resembling ads, subscription emails, annoying popups. If you are into that sort of stuff, you can find them aplenty elsewhere.

Who is the target audience?

Posts will most likely vary quite a lot with respect to frequency, length, content and format. Most of the stuff is meant for personal reference, but hopefully it will be of interest to folks with an enthusiasm for learning new things, or have stumbled into similar issues.

In general, I have always been fond of documenting the steps I follow when taking on a new challenge. Hopefully, this blog is a means to help put this information in a readable format that will be useful to other people.
